Who We Are: Passionate Educators Rooted in Nature

With a shared passion for child-led learning and the great outdoors, Sam and Edward bring years of experience in early years education to the heart of Dalbeattie. Sam has worked as a 1:1 SEN support in primary education, while Edward is a qualified Montessori teacher. Together, we’ve delivered enriching early years programs using both Montessori principles and Forest School approaches—and we’re both Level 3 qualified Forest School leaders.

Our Journey: From Coastal Holidays to Community Roots

After many joyful family holidays exploring the stunning Colvend Coast, we made Dalbeattie our home. Inspired by the natural beauty of Dumfries and Galloway and driven by our love for outdoor learning, we’ve launched a new venture that connects children and families with nature, creativity, and community.

Our shop, Dalbeattie Wood on Dalbeattie High Street is more than just a retail and workshop space - it’s a hub for exploration and imagination. We offer projects for families and adults designed to spark creativity and nature products to foster curiosity, and celebrate the incredible natural resources right on our doorstep.
