The Dalbeattie Wood Magnifier is used to view objects close up that children find and want to observe more closely. It comes with printed illustrations around the magnifying lens of plants or animals found in the United Kingdom that children may find when exploring. It is designed to be held steady easily by children using both hands.
This product is designed and hand made by Dalbeattie Wood.
The magnifier is constructed out of two pieces 3mm birch veneered plywood that have been glued together with wood glue.
A rectangular plastic fresnel magnifying lens is sandwiched between the two layers and is x3 magnification.
The design is engraved using a CNC laser cutting and engraving machine.
External dimensions - approximately 14cm by 20cm.
