Some Creativity and Photography in Rounall Wood

Here at Dalbeattie Wood we take great pride in designing and creating quality wooden products for children. We are constantly exploring and experimenting with new ideas that will encourage families to get out and explore what nature has to offer. After a recent walk in Rounall Wood here in Dalbeattie and seeing all the trees and granite covered in thick moss, we thought it would make a great place to photograph some of our products. So as it was such a lovely day we set off armed with a bag of products and cameras to see what we could come up with.

We propped the wooden clipboards up against tree trunks so they caught the last of the sunlight. The magnifier was put into a tangle of mossy dead branches on the ground so an impressive turkeytail fungus could be seen through the viewfinder. We managed to photograph everything before the light faded, although I think we may have looked a little odd to passing dog walkers!

We were pleased with how the photos turned out once they were processed. We felt the photos had the feel we were looking for. Not bad at all for a first attempt.

The photos of our products have now replaced those of the red squirrels on the home page, so they will give you an idea of what we will be selling both in the shop on the High Street and online.
